The majority of cheese produced at Warrnambool Cheese & Butter (WCB) is of the standard cheddar variety. Low fat cheddar, skim milk, gouda and emmental cheeses are also produced.
Bulk cheese manufactured at the site is sold to wholesale customers in Australia and on the international market.
Approximately 40% of the cheese production is exported to such countries and regions as Japan, Korea, the Middle East, the US, Europe and South East Asia.
The cheese plant was upgraded in 1993 as part of a major expansion of the manufacturing facilities at the site and its capacity increased further in 2005. It is highly computerised and one of Australia's most modern and largest cheese plants.
