Warrnambool Cheese & Butter's bovine lactoferrin is extracted from pure skim milk produced by pasture-fed cows in southern Australia.
Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein of the transferrin family with iron-chelating properties. It has been widely researched and demonstrated to have antibacterial, antiviral and antioxidant activity. The powder is used in infant formula and nutraceuticals.
Lactoferrin is sold to both domestic and export markets.
