Environmental Sustainability
As an environmentally responsible company, Warrnambool Cheese and Butter continually strives for way to improve its environmental performance. The Company reviews its compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and takes a proactive approach to environmental matters.
The Company has put in place several initiatives to reduce waste from the factory, including the recovery and recycling of heat from the refrigeration plant to the hot water system, the use of biogas from the effluent plant to partially power the plant boilers and the recycling of sludge generated from the waste treatment plant into organic fertiliser for use by Company suppliers. |
